Well, it's a freezing rain-y Thursday, but a good day none-the-less. Have the day off which is nice. Means I can spend some time with the hubby. He was home last night when I came home from work. Told me that his birthday was horrid and he didn't want to talk about it. So... I still don't know what's up, but at least he's not P.O'ed at me. So... we're sitting at the library, using their wireless internet and enjoy my day off.
I've made a good friend at work recently. Brendan. He was there for me when Andy was gone and invited me up to talk and whatnot. He let me whine and complain and then gave me some reasons to laugh. The next day at work, he asked how things were. I love when friends just kinda present themselves like that. Keeping friends, and finding new friends has always been something I've struggled with, so this new job, and the new people is really exciting! People who know me, understand me and accept me for who I am. What a great feeling!
The job is going pretty good. There are quite a few people out there who don't know anything about computers, or internet, and therefore, those calls can be frustrating. Then there's the people that know a little more than most people, so they go into their settings, and change everything around. Those calls are usually long and funny, because you can find the weirdest settings. Then there's the people who know usually MORE than me and get frustrated when I can't figure out what they're talking about. All in all, the best calls are the ones from people who just dont know what to do, and you get them back up and running, and they're soooo excited. I had one guy tell me I was 'the bomb'. I also had an Arab tell me that he was so happy with me fixing his internet, that the next time I'm in Ottawa, come to his used furniture store and I'll get a big discount. :) Yeah... okay. Next time I need some used furniture, I'll fly to Ottawa to get some from him. He told me 'Big discount for you! Big discount for your family! Big discount for your friends!'. Maybe we should all plan a road trip and hold him to that! lol!
Had the longest call of my LIFE yesterday. The guy had an ongoing problem of not getting the correct speeds. He had High Speed Extreme Plus. Supposed to be getting 18Mb download speeds, and was only getting 11. The call lasted an hour and 3 minutes, BUT, at the end of the call, he was happy (even though the problem wasn't fixed). Sometimes people don't care if you fix their problem, they just want someone to agree with them and tell them that they're right. Sometimes compassion goes a long way.
With that, it's time to get Andy a coffee and figure out supper plans for tonight. A bunch of Andy's friends, his birth mom, and I are all going out for supper tonight. Should be fun!
Peace out!

Tanya, sounds like things are better at home. I don't know what happened, and maybe you don't know either - but alast, things are better.
Glad you are having so much fun at your job. Have I told you that I am so proud of you - especially being a PK.
Thanks so much for your kind words about my vroom. I am so excited about getting it out. And for all those concerned, I will be careful.
Love you so much my dearest child. The next time your up, I have something special for you, just from me.
Thanks dad!
I'm not sure what the plan is for this weekend where I work til 1am on Saturday night again.
And as for Andy, no I'm not sure what happened, but we did have a good night tonight.
Love you!!!!!!
Hey Tanya,
I am glad that you and Andy had a good night. Take care of YOU, remember...
Love your Auntie
Tanya, I'm glad Andy is back. Maybe once things settle down a bit he might come around and talk about it. It's proabably important to get it "out there" and talk about it so that maybe work it out a little.
In the meantime... I'm glad you had a good day off together! Celebrate each other... but allow space to be individual too.(I'm still learning this one)
It's good to hear your job is working out so well and that you're making friends there. Work is so much better when you have people to talk to and people who care about you around you.
I hope you can make it down for Easter! Andy too?!
*more hugs*
